TAMARABLU – www.room75.com
The experimental fusion between Design and Art is the main feature of Tamara Repetto’s work, which is distinguished by her serious consideration with regard to materials. Transformation is a fundamental trait of these works, is the outcome of research that results in “intelligent recycling”, and is due to an entirely hand-crafted process that gives new forms and meanings to so-called “waste materials”, such as radiators from old machines or refrigerators, and industrial coils. The sustainability of these projects is, above all, ensured by the choice of materials, especially aluminium, which is indefinitely recyclable with a minimum of energetic loss. And here we are dealing with pure physical energy, as these designed furnishings are strictly made by hand, by bending and hammering the metal, and by transforming the thin aluminium sheets into a thick surface of shattered light. Based on an essentially “ecological” way of thinking and doing, the creative process is totally directed at respecting Nature, the great protagonist of contemporary culture.

Born in 1983, has been an interior designer with Studiomorinn for four years. Now she unveils Aelle, a new series of housewares made completely of 100% recycled aluminum: a table lamp, a cake stand, a candlestick, a flower vase. These traditional objects come in recognizable shapes that are transformed, taking on a new identity after you do something to them that is usually associated with aluminum containers: a can gets crumpled and sheds light where you want it; a tin is opened and turns into a cake stand; a tube that has been squeezed and rolled brings forth a candle; a lid screws on and off, becoming a vase that’s different each time. These light-hearted contemplations illustrate the actions that usually accompany our ‘using up’ a product and throwing away the container. In the Aelle series, the very same action actually brings the object to life.

AK47 – www.ak47space.com
The current design scene is represented by products that are repetitive, chasing after one another, and all very much alike. The themes they deal with are too often similar, research and innovation are frequently neglected. Hence the intuition of Ak47: to develop designs that shun the obvious, venturing into questions that are still unexplored. The aim is to qualify simple objects; to enhance them and characterise them with the quest for a particular process, the innovative use of materials, the care for details. This is the only way to escape the bonds of fleeting fashion and achieve lasting elegance.Wood management is the first theme of the project that Ak47 tackled, but we wished to extend our range as much as possible in order to cover an infinite series of possibilities. Our proposals aim to amaze with unexpected details, almost hidden at first glance. And so the new Ak47 collection of contemporary furnishing accessories was created, which seeks to discover the equilibrium between functionality and style to release a language that is able to bring together innovation, proportion, originality and usefulness.
